19th century solid mahogany and walnut chest of three short over three graduated drawers, also having a secret drawer that can be opened underneath the central small drawer! This is a substantial piece of furniture - extremely solid and very heavy - it will be here for generations to come! It has a great colour and patina!! It does have a few war wounds - there is some pieces of veneer missing here and there; there are also cracks down each side of the chest as is usual with a piece of furniture of this age - but they are stable with no movement. There is also a piece of trim missing from the front upper left section of the chest which could be replaced - see all photographs! The right hand small drawer can be a little stiff to open - but a warmer house and a bit of Polish will put that to right! The dr assts are furnished with reproduction metal handles which are fine - but could be replaced if desired! Regardless of it’s few war wounds, this chest will be here for many, many years...more
