Stunning set of high-quality lead crystal wine glasses dating to the mid-19th century. The plain bowl is made from vibrant green glass that fluoresces under UV light. This indicates that it contains traces of uranium. The hollow flint glass stem is cut with a row of five pentagonal facets, just below the bowl. Below this is a series of five rows of five hexagonal facets, which are staggered with respect to each other. This gives a ‘honeycomb’ effect. The foot is plain with a central polished pontil. It has a height of approximately 13.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.5cm and across the foot of about 6.6cm. It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.Further pictures available on request. All packaging is either recycled or recyclable ♻️...more
