A large vintage compendium of horror stories with a fantastic cover featuring "Death" on the front & spine. Made in England & printed by "Hutchinson" in circa 1935. Featuring 70 stories from the 1800s and early 1900s, through the Victorian & Edwardian eras & into the early 20th Century. Spooky stories from the likes of Charles Dickens, Edgar Allan Poe, H. G. Welles, D. H. Lawrence & more! There's an inscription of someone's name & Norfolk address in the front, lots of wear/marks to the cover, a faded spine with water damage marks and a few tiny holes, the pages have come away from the spine in places but are not loose individually or missing, several storage marks & foxing sections, the pages have storage/foxing marks on the sides that are visible when the book is closed, there's one torn corner (no text missing) & it has a slight musty smell from previous poor storage. Still very much readable & usable condition....more
