We spotted this little treasure in the window of a shop, however kept on walking. We couldn't get it out of our heads, so went back the next day to find him safely perched where we left him! Dating back to the 20's/30's, this little owl is carved from a tagua nut - which is technically a seed! Often called 'vegetable ivory' for its qualities similar to ivory. It still has its original glass eyes and sweet bakelite feet - consistent with materials available at the time. It is infact a corkscrew, however due to age is quite delicate - however still useable! The perfect quirky addition to any home bar! Opto chose this in London, England Condition: Good Size: L 4cm x W 4cm x H 9.5cm Weight: 66g...more
