A beautiful 1930s Art Deco jug by Ditmar-Urbach, who designed and produced highly collectible ceramics from their porcelain factory in Czechoslovakia. The factory was very sadly taken by the Nazis in 1938 and became part of Ostmark-Ceramic, and so this piece remains an important part of Czechoslovakian history. Hand painted in a wonderfully vibrant array of colours, it retains all the brilliance of its original manufacture 86 years ago - it’s sunny yellow body and swirling orange and blue flowers are sure to brighten up your day! Signed and stamped with authentic marks. The shape of the jug - 'Lostro' - which is embossed into the base of the jug, appears in the 1937 catalogue for the company. H: 17cm W: 14cm D: 9cm A nick to the glaze on the handle and some chips to the base which are barely visible when stood upright - see photos for reference. ~~ Please note - every piece is preloved and/or vintage so some small general signs of age and ware should be expected....more
