A wonderfully unique ceramic pitcher jug from Burleigh Pottery in a striking blue & white colour way. This large, sturdy jug c. 1960s, depicts a maiden feeding her dogs outside in a 3D relief design, whilst the handle takes the shape of dog, leaning over the wall, begging to be fed. H: 25cm D: 13.5cm (base) 10cm (opening) Tiny nick to the glaze around the base of the jug - see photos for reference. ~~ This style of jug from Burleigh Ware is a reproduction of the 'Old Feeding Time' jug by Samuel Alcock, originally designed and made in the mid 1800s. Burleigh Ware purchased some of their moulds and later reproduced some of their designs. ~~ All items are sold as seen. We aim to show and describe them as accurately as possible, so do look at the images carefully and request any further information should you need it. Please note - every piece is preloved and/or vintage so some small general signs of age and ware should be expected....more
