This extremely rare Mid Century, faux bamboo, black lacquered chair with intricate woven rush seat and back is such a show stopper! With its chinoiserie style, ladder side panels, curved stretchers and rattan wrapping details it makes this chair a stand out piece. The manufacturer or designer of this chair is unknown to me but it is similar in style to Ficks Reed & McGuire lounge chairs. The seat and back are woven in a distinct and identifiable pattern, associated with the Danish Modern movement. In the traditional chequerboard pattern using thick seagrass. Dimensions: H 85 cm W 56 cm D 49 cm Era: 1960s Materials: Bentwood, Rattan & Woven Rush Condition: A vintage piece in good condition with some signs of wear and use commensurate with age.
