Designed in 1972 by graphic designer, Alan Fletcher, the Clam Ashtray is a true icon of 20th century design! A beautifully simple, yet ingenious design, it features two identical rounded halves with ribbed 'teeth', that fit neatly together to form a lidded storage container, or when split, two ashtrays(or dishes); the 'teeth' originally intended to hold a cigarette or cigar. H: 5cm (2'') x W: 15cm (6") diameter In excellent vintage condition throughout, free from notable damage and with all its 'teeth' in good order. It simply displays light, insignificant, surface marks when tipped to the light. This piece is from our own personal collection and unused.
