Robin and Lucienne Day for Hille Armchairs Scarcely seen Robin Day mid-century chairs with shell frame and the Y shaped legs never seen together with the armchair version. Dark Brown textured shell with black metal legs. Hille armchairs were constructed from moulded plastic Polypropylene Seat and back tilted slightly to provide extra comfort These will add a retro feel to any indoor or outdoor space. Designed in 1967 by British designer Robin Day following the dramatic success of the Polypropylene side chair. Its rolled edges ensure that the fixings are kept out of sight from the front view and the generously wide seat with built-in arms makes it incredibly comfortable. Robin Day is best-known for the Polypropylenechair he designed in 1963 The shell was originally mounted on a stacking frame, but a number of different bases allowed it to be used for a variety of applications, from homes to airports to offices to sport stadia.
