Set of 2 original wooden English school chairs dating from the early 50s, made by Kingfisher of West Bromwich. The original English manufactures of school furniture 1940-50s English school furniture. Adults size chairs Each with its own little bit of character, the chairs have been lovingly used for many years but are still in good solid condition. An unusual set of 2dining chairs chairs. We haven't seen this model before, with plain backrests (which makes these chairs much more comfortable) and with book storage backs. From a school or college originally for multi use so perhaps used in a classroom or church. Reinforcement in metal and attachment between them. Each each has a unique look and is supported by a light green metal bracket to its sides. Quite a weighty chair, constructed of beech. Structure in good condition, traces of use. Distressing of the lacquer finish to all areas. signs of use all over them such as scuffs, and scratches. These items have been cleaned and treated with quality beeswax to highlight and protect the grain.
