One of the all time classic British chairs inspired by the contemporary designs of Bauhaus. The most famous producer in England was PEL, but several other manufacturers including Cox produced the same design. These chairs were originally made with canvas slings which rotted easily, so this design was improved with ply and then upholstery as in this case. The frames and Seat cushions are in excellent vintage condition with the frame having many knocks and scratches to the paint work, as you would expect from age and use.
