Set of Four 1970's Hornsea Saffron Coffee Cups. Each cup measures: 8cm dia opening, 7cm height 7cm diameter base The Saffron collection of kitchen and tableware was launched after the huge success of the Heirloom designs. Designed by John Clappison, Saffron first appeared in 1970 and epitomises the aesthetic of this decade. A warm orange forms the background, with the super seventies floral pattern picked out in a lighter, mustard yellow. As always, we have picked these cups as they will look equally at home in a retro or modern aesthetic. The cups are in overall very good vintage condition. There is some visible crazing to the interior of 3 of the cups, as is common with this this area of Hornsea designs- plus 1 cup has a chip to the base - which doesn’t show when in use.
