50's Carlton Ware Mikado Rouge Royale Set Of 2 Bowls - Enamel on Graduated Rouge Red & Black w/ Gold Gilt - Vintage Collectible Lustre Ware A stunning pair of Carlton Ware bowls in the 'Mikado Rouge Royale' pattern. The pieces have been hand enamelled with a lovely oriental design consisting of pagoda, willow trees and delicate blossom with two figurines in an array of pastel shades. The 'Rouge Royale' name truly does this duo justice with a background of graduated rich red and deep brown/black tones with muted gold accents. The high lustre finish on both pieces allows for a stunning iridescence inside and out. The base of the both pieces show the script style Carlton Ware stamp with impressed dates of 1973 and 1976. The duo are in fantastic condition overall with no cracks, chips or nibbles to either piece. There is crazing evident to the underside of both pieces. Both bowls feature wear to the gold gilt and a handful of very light surface scratches to the red lustre leaving a lighter pink mark (evident more so on the inside of the smaller bowl).
