A stunning example of a mid-century (60s-70s) style of decanter, or commonly known as a genie bottle and a popular collectible. This could be Empoli, tho I’m not 100% sure, but this looks to have been made in Italy from the marking on the bottom. This one is Square at the base transitioning into a rounded neck on which sits a massive globe top. Really makes a statement and it is more purple in tone than comes up in the photos. It stands at a total of 28.5cm with the top placed in the bottle (or as the bottle only it is 21cm). 11cm at the base, narrows in to 4cm and flutes out to 9cm in diameter. The top is 9cm in diameter. The top is missing the plastic or rubber stopper which has probably perished , as so many of these genie bottle ones have. You can find replacements online, tho the top sits safely in the bottle on its own… it’s just not sealed....more
