Hardback edition (John. F. Shaw & Co, London) of "A Brother's Ransom" by Alice Lang. With a beautiful art nouveau style front cover and spine. There is an inscription inside on one of the front pages dating the book to 1917 at the latest. Inside is a lovely, bright illustrated book plate before the story begins and some fabulous adverts in the last few pages for other books available at the time. The story is a fictional tale about the lives of villagers in Devonshire, England. Some wear inside, to the pages and cover, some storage marks and the cover has a slight separation from the pages (see photos)....more
