This is a lovely antique storage box - possibly originally used for storing deeds or other important documents. It's been completely transformed with the addition of hand painted swooping swallows and spring blossoms in olive, bronze and white. The exterior has been sealed with several layers of varnish, while the interior has been protected with furniture wax. It's perfect for art or craft supplies, or could be used as a jewellery or trinket box. As with all my vintage pieces, this has bumps and blemishes that reflect its previous life, adding to its character and charm - there are surface dinks and some losses to the edges of the box.
