Antique statue made of Bronze with gold gilding. The statue is of Thai Origin and was likely made in the early 20th century. It depicts a spiritual divine dancer, with the stunning, elaborate dress being typical of Thai celestial beings. Also, the raised hand & hip bend are popular in Thai Ramayana classical dance. The statue is made of Bronze and is very heavy. It makes a lovely ringing sound when tapped with another metal item. Based on the high-quality details, it is likely this piece was cast using the traditional lost wax process. It is in very good vintage condition. It has some corrosion, uneven patina and some blueish-white crust in some areas. This is further confirmation this is likely to be an old piece as these are signs of older Bronze.
