This lovely antique /vintage deed box is perfect as decorative storage. I've gilded it in copper leaf, then given it a faux verdigris effect using layers of black and green furniture paint. The vibrant hand painted kingfisher, Ferdinand, has been set against a copper leaf sun - it's a unique, statement piece. The original interior has been cleaned, waxed and polished. The painted exterior has been sealed with several layers of lacquer. There is a working lock and key - I have had many of these boxes and this is unusual as the keys are often long lost! As with all my vintage pieces this has bumps and blemishes that reflect its previous life adding to its character and charm.
