Antique Fire Screen/Metamorphic Side Table.

This listing is for a beautiful antique metamorphic fire screen/side table with an embroidered floral sampler centre insert on a tasteful black background. I would guess at this item being from around the 1920s and is made from oak with a glass screen. The fire screen is easily changed into a side table by tipping the screen back to make a flat surface. This is then held in place by sliding two bolts underneath the screen into place. The table can easily be folded away by changing it back into a fire screen. This would come in very handy in today’s small modern homes and apartments but for people who still want the quality of antique and vintage pieces around their home. Measurements: Height 78cm Length 58.5cm Width 31cm Height as a table 48cm This item is a beautiful piece that is sturdy and has been well crafted. It would look charming in any home, farm house or country pub. The item did receive some gentle cleaning and sympathetic restoration whilst in our care. There is a couple of bits behind the glass which we have not been able to remove. I have photographed these. They are only noticeable if you actually look for them though.
