Antique Oak Table With Hand Painted Whale

This lovely antique oak table has been completely transformed with a hand painted sperm whale - Cyril. The edges of the tabletop have been embellished with metal leaf and the underside and legs painted in a warm grey then lightly distressed; the whole piece has been waxed with several layers of beeswax and touches of black wax. It is a completely unique piece of statement furniture, with original artwork. As with all my vintage and antique pieces this has evidence of its previous life adding to its unique character and charm - the table is in excellent condition; it originally belonged to my grandparents so I can vouch for it having been well looked after!
