Antique Toleware Flour Bin

This is a lovely toleware flour bin with a fabulous aged patina. It has its original hasp latch and top handle - it looks as if the rear hinge has been reattached at some point but it's secure and functional. The entire piece has been thoroughly cleaned, waxed and polished to protect the surfaces and preserve the patina. It's a sturdy and lovely quality piece - perfect as decorative storage (but I wouldn't use it to store flour, I've cleaned it thoroughly but it's not food safe). As with all my vintage and antique pieces this has bumps and blemishes that reflect its previous life adding to its character and charm - there are some minor losses to the exterior paint, some blemishes and small patches of rust, now sealed with beeswax.
