An antique Victorian needlepoint depicting Moses presenting the 10 commandments to the Hebrews in Diaspora. European origin, 19th century. The image has lost its colours due to age and to sun fading over its life time. When you turn it over you can see that it was once a full colour vibrant piece. It would have started it’s life in a beautiful Victorian frame but sadly at some point it has been removed. The backing has newspaper on the frame suggesting that a different frame was applied at some point, this again has been removed. With all that being said, the fades are appealing.
