Dimensions 47cm x 32cm x 13cm This is a fabulous and quite rare antique or vintage apothecary cabinet - it's possibly the quirkiest item I've found to date! The interior labels are a feast for the eyes and full of bizarre information, from the Essence of Civility, which is good for all times for pert misses and airish youngsters (?) to the Centpercent drops which are good for oil on the brain! It's delightfully bonkers and I'm presuming typical of the time of travelling quacks, although I think this is later and was possibly for a door to door salesman. Information I've found about the cabinet suggest it dates from 1910-1950, it's generally in good condition, there is evidence of ink having been splattered on the exterior and the labels on the interior have some obvious marks, but are fully intact. The drop down door has bowed a little but closes securely. It's been thoroughly cleaned, then waxed and polished. Please get in touch if you would like more photographs. P&P £15.00...more
