This is a lovely example of the typical Staffordshire style mantlepiece/fireside dog and a very good large size The figure is unmarked and as such difficult to date but the underside has does not have the large casting holes often seen in modern reproductions indicating it could be an original Victorian dog although this cannot be certain. It is in good condition for the age but does have some golt gilt paint loss and soms crazing but this does add to the antique charm somewhat! 31cm tall by 29cm wide at base...more
