Antique wigmakers box with three toupees, These wigmakers were French, the box address is M and Mme Gustave Wig makers, Private, Historical, Theatrical. 10 Long Acre London WC2 The box in itself is a great piece of history and would look nice displayed on a shelf, however it is amazing that the contents of the box have survived, there are three real hair handmade toupees and a small box with adhesive strips. I wonder who these beauties belonged to, would it have been for a grand theatrical show in London or for private use. This collection would be ideal for display in a barbers salon or a theatrical museum. There is a hand signed signature on the front of the box where the clients address should go, sadly I cannot make the name out. One of these boxes resides in the V and A museum with out the contents so this is a rare find....more
