A striking set of teak dining chairs by iconic mid-century designer Arne Hovmand-Olsen for Mogens Kold, Denmark. This set has had one owner from new, and is in usable but unrestored condition. The papercord is original and has some marks and stains. All chairs are solid and can be sat on, but three of the six do have some loose cords. We've cleaned and oiled the wood, which has a lovely rich grain and patina, with the odd scratch and worn patch from use. The legs and uprights are a darker shade than the spindles and horizontal bars – this is a feature of the design. Arne Hovmand-Olsen Throughout the 1950s and ‘60s, Hovmand-Olsen created furnishings that boasted all of the alluring qualities now associated with vintage Scandinavian modern design. The esteemed Danish designer favoured high-quality teak, oak and rosewood for his sideboards, chairs and dining tables.
