A beautiful example of an Arts & Crafts Chair crafted by the renowned maker William Birch for Liberty & Co. in the late 19th century. Made of Oak, this chair has developed a beautiful patina that doesn’t quite come through in the photos and is in wonderful condition for its age, with no major flaws. There are ridged ring turnings on the front legs, front stretcher and the back supports. The two front legs have little bun feet and this is duplicated in the design on the very top points of the chair. The rush seat is in good condition, though slightly less tight than it should be due to its age. This would make a beautiful and comfortable chair for a special spot anywhere in your home. This is a very collectible chair and when found can retail around the £650 - £1000 mark.
