Fabulous and rare piece of art deco Clarice Cliff. In 1925, Cliff was given her own studio initially taking defective wares and crudely handpainting them with geometric patterns to hide the faults. Proving very popular, this range was then produced in its own right named Bizarre and ran from 1928 -1935. Often referred to as Original Bizarre by collectors, this meant a range of designs rather than one specific pattern but all typically with thickly applied bright colourways and geometric shapes. This spectacular square plate has a bold pattern of red, yellow, blue, purple and green. It is in the less common square shape. In excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
