Beautiful little Art Nouveau style brass photo frame. Depicting an elegant classical female figure, goddess or nymph, holding a laurel wreath. Roman/Grecian character. Brass is very light gold colour, like a warm silver in some lights. A design typical of its era. Has original glass, flocked back with stand, all still intact. The back is held on by 2 simple little metal clips. There’s a bit of a knack to them, but with care they simply pull off and press back on. The glass feels a little loose, but it’s not at all unstable. You might find placing another piece of card behind the back will prevent the glass from shifting slightly. It’s unusual to find these type of frames with backs or glass intact. There is writing relating to the patent on the hinge, but it’s difficult to read as it’s so small. Frame measures approximately 8.5cm height and width. Aperture is approximately 4.3 x 5.3cm. Please understand, this is a vintage item that has had a long life. It may bear signs of age....more
