A very nice Sowerby glass water jug or pitcher dated c.1920-1930. Would also look great as a vase for flowers. This beautiful amber glass has a footed base and is produced in pressed glass. The pattern of this lovely vintage amber jug is typical of Sowerbys elegant style and very in keeping with the art deco period. The very striking angular handle and base with starburst detailing is very pretty. The condition of this lovely glass pitcher is very good. The glass is free from any chips, cracks or damage. The Sowerby pattern number is 2550. Deapite it’s age, this beautiful amber jug hs stood the test of time and has been well looked after. As with vintage pressed glass of the era, manufacturing irregularities such as the odd bubble and inclusion in the finish but this ia what makes this beautiful vintage glass special. The measurements for this jug: 18cm high, 18cm wide at the widest point. The Amber Sowerby 2550 jug would also make a great flower vase or a gift for a collector of vintage amber glass or Sowerby glass....more
