Vintage 1930/1940s Art Silk Rayon Lace Panel Art Silk: Art silk dates back to the 1890s and were developed using cellulose river and marketed as art silk or viscose. In 1924 the name of the fibre was officially changed in the US to Rayon. The term viscose is commonly used in Europe. Using Rayon or Viscose rather than cotton results in a beautiful shine to the panel. Made on original Victoria lace looms used for Nottingham Lace. The panel measures 41”/ 43” The panel features a gorgeous ombré pink floral design The Panel is unfinished and needs a rod pocket or hem added to the top and a hem on the bottom This piece has 2 visible mends shown in the images, they measure 4&6cm....more
