A very charming expressionist portrait in oil, painted in 1969. This oil composition features a portrait of a female figure with auburn hair, against a similarly coloured background. Her gaze is away from us, suggesting that she is pensive. The painting is characterised by expressive, gestural brushstrokes, with areas of impasto particularly to the black coat that the figure is wearing.
