this lovely colourful landscape features the typical traits of an early 20th century scene. A small stream leads our eye into the picture, past rushes and white flowers towards a small white painted building partially hidden behind trees. Vague detail and soft edges add to the atmosphere of the scene. The picture is signed by Dorothy Alder (possibly Alden) and dated unclear (19??) The rear board bears a frame label for BH Coleman of Seagry, with an old 3 digit phone number. Supported in a gilt frame measuring 36cm x 55cm, the visible image is presented with a gold mount typical of the early 20th century and measures 20cm x 38cm.
