This very striking black jug vase dates from the 1940s and has a very iconic look of that period. It was manufactured by the Sterling Pottery company who became part of the Lawley group in 1950. The lower part of the jug is a bulbous shape and the top half has ridging and a double handle linking it to the bottom half. The glaze is a very deep jet black. There are a couple of little anomalies in the glazing from the manufacturing process and some slight wear along the edge of the handle but no damage that can be detected. It measures 18cm tall and 17cm from spout to handle. Please browse my shop and if you are interested in more than one item message me so I can adjust the postage cost. All items are carefully packaged with used or reusable materials before being sent to their new homes....more
