Le Creuset purchased their biggest competitor Cousances’ brand, factory and classic moulds in 1950. Le Creuset continued to produce Cousances pieces until the 1980’s. This large heavy cast iron Cousances frying pan is likely to date from the 1980’s. The pan weighs slightly under 2.5kg. It’a a wonderful graduated blue colour. The outside is in superb condition, with relatively light marking throughout. The handle is also in excellent condition, with no evidence of burns or scorch marks. It is finished off by an iron hook at the end of the handle. The inside is in good seasoned used condition. The underside is stamped “Cousances 28 Made in France”. Dimensions are 28cm diameter x 55cm maximum length x approximately 5.5cm depth. All in all this is a quality item as is to be expected from Cousances / Le Creuset....more
