One very rare and highly prized Bourne Denby flour jar. Do google if you don't believe me, I can't find one out there in the ether. Bourne Denby predates Denby ware, these were popular at a time when products were sold loose - much like they are beginning to be again today. Reads FLOUR in back script, it is smudged a little by the F by a wobbly painter and has a firing crack across the white scroll. It will have emerged from the kiln like this. The jar has gentle crackle after 100 plus years service but it is stable, there are also couple of small dings on the rim from use. Otherwise I would describe it as excellent vintage condition. No cracks It's a fine thing and as rare as hens teeth. Would look so wonderful in the kitchen today. Dimensions 190mm high and 150mm diameter...more
