Ceramic Doctor and Nurse Figurines

This pair of ceramic figurines were created in the 1970s by the Italian artist Dino Bencini famed for his hand made whimsical and slightly scarey pottery characters with spaghetti style hair. The doctor has receding spaghetti hair and moustache, sports an oversized lapel jacket and baggy trousers and carries a Gladstone bag and stethoscope. The nurse has long side swept spaghetti hair and wears an old fashioned nurses long length dress uniform and hat and carries an oversized hypodermic needle and a rather shocked expression on her face. She has had a little past damage to one side of her hair and corner of her hat but this does not distract from the amusement of this pair of fun characters. They stand 13cm and 14cm tall. They would make a fun gift for someone in the medical profession and a great talking point.
