Charlotte Rhead Crown Ducal jug with green chain

A Charlotte Rhead design jug for Crown Ducal with a green chain pattern. Charlotte Rhead was a renowned British ceramicist working in the 1910s-1930s in Staffordshire. She designed several iconic tube lined patterns, including the green chain design that features green and black links surrounded by an orange stripe and decorative dots. The jug features a green handle that splits into two towards the rim and a ribbed body. The bottom is signed Charlotte Rhead, this is a facsimile signature done by one of the tube liners that worked under Charlotte Rhead (probably Elsie Fearns). The bottom is also stamped with the Crown Ducal mark and the shape number 207 is impressed. This is an excellent example of art deco design and highly collectible, it would make a great centre piece with a bunch of flowers in, or simple on display as is. This is a vintage item and so may show signs of its previous life. There is some signs of wear to the glaze (particularly the black sections) and inside, commensurate with the age of the piece.
