Large, charming, vintage Christmas Huntley & Palmers Biscuits tin. Litho prints. The front features a rural winter scene of two male pheasants in the snow with cottages and a church in the background. Boughs of pine cones, holly and greenery are situated around the scene. Black backgrounds. Red stripe on the sides of the lid. The sides of the tin depict variations of the main theme with both male and female pheasants. Perfect as a biscuit tin or rustic storage box. 23 cm long x 22 cm wide x 11.5cm high Backstamp: HUNTLEY & PALMERS, BISCUITS, READING HUYTON (LIVERPOOL) & LONDON, ENGLAND. I believe it dates to between 1955 (opening of Huyton, Liverpool factory) and 1976 (closure of Reading factory). Stickers to two sides. "METAL" will come off. Tin is in very good condition. Interior clean, little rust....more
