A lively and expressive large modernist coastal landscape composition, executed in oil onto board. This striking composition presents a coastal scape that is lined with houses by the coast. Sail boats are at rest in the blue waters, and in the background, we can spot a mountain landscape. Painted with expressive and textured brushstrokes, the artist has skilfully used blocks of contrasting colours to reconstruct this scene. A rich and uplifting colour palette has been used, and the plethora of colours not only imbue the work with liveliness but is also a visual feast for the eyes. This oil on board is housed in a lovely wood and gilt frame with a linen inner border.
