Beautiful vintage Murano art glass biomorphic bowl. This blown, stretched, and folded glass bowl was made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy most likely in the 1960's or 1970's. The piece is not marked but is similar to the work of several Venetian manufacturers, including Barovier & Toso and Galliano Fero. The bowl was created with cobalt blue glass that was infused with lots of gold leaf before being shaped into a clover leaf shape and then the entire piece was encased in clear glass. The "pontil" mark where the steel blowing rod was attached to the glass has been ground and polished smooth indicating superior workmanship. Measures 18cm in diameter and about 7cm tall. The bowl is in good used vintage condition with respect to age and use. There are some light surface marks in a few spots along with some shelf wear on the base. No chips or cracks.
