A tankard to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on June 2nd, 1953 crafted by Dartmouth Pottery of Devon, England. The tankard is made of deep-brown glazed earthenware which makes it highly unique. The tankard features the Queen's image in raised relief which sits within a floral wreath. The date of the coronation, "June 1953", is featured on a scroll below alongside "Elizabeth R". On a separate panel, the Royal Coat of Arms is displayed. The handle is sculpted into an ornate shape whilst the base of the tankard features a ridged design. The cup measures 4 3/4" high and 5" across (including the handle). Great condition....more
