This beautiful vase was hand made and painted in Cuba. The technique involves layering a design, in this case flower and leaf shapes, some spray painted, and then overlaying the outlines and the detailing with a thicker dark brown paint to give a striking finish. The outside is unglazed whilst the inner is glazed with a co-ordinating dark brown. The base is 8cm wide, the middle is about 11cm across tapering towards the top opening of 9cm. It stands 22cm high. A striking piece of traditional Cuban pottery which will co ordinate with many different colour schemes.
