This is a hemispherical bowl in fairly fine gauge white metal stands on three ball feet. It is decorated with the interlaced patterns typical of Islamic Nigerian metalware. Between the feet it is inscribed AKIN M INUWA KANO. Kano is one of the main urban centres of Islamic northern Nigeria. We have not been able to find out anything more about Akin M Inuwa, whom we assume is the artist. It's a lovely piece with a stunning patina and a lovely piece of antique African decorative art.
