Here we have a small Edwardian antique sovereign case in the form of a miniature purse. The sovereign case is made from tan leather with a metal frame. The case opens up to reveal a metal section that has two push mechanism spring loaded sockets; one for sovereigns and one for half sovereigns. The sovereign case has a small loop to one side to allow it to be hung from a chatelaine hook or watch chain and has a good click opening and closure mechanism. The sovereign holder is marked D.R.G.M. (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster), Germany, with a registered design number 536106 and is a great piece of history. A beautiful collectable gift.
