A beautiful, elegant and rare Ercol writing table designed by Lucian Ercolani in the 1960's. A vintage Ercol model 479/439... a very well cared for example and still as stylish today as the day it was produced. In outstanding, clean and original condition with very little sign of use. This piece has the blue Ercol label affixed to the rear, which along with the model's production history dates it to the mid 1960s. Solidly constructed with no sign of damage or repair and the original factory finish is still in excellent condition with only a very few, very minor age-related marks. A charmingly proportioned writing table with the fabulous grain of the solid English elm upper consisting of a long drawer unit with a graceful beech underpart. The top of the table has a long shelf and two handy end drawers - the space between is open. The blue Ercol label is still present on the rear of the desk. It can stand against a wall or window, or anywhere in the room, because the back has the same beautiful finish as the front. A joyful piece of furniture, light enough to carry from room to room.
