A monochrome design of an African women preparing food and a palm tree, etched (or sgraffito’d) onto a platter by the renowned potter Eric Leaper who started the Cornish Newlyn Pottery in the 60s. Famous for his glazing technique (see other platters of his I have for sale). This Black Scraffito Series was something a bit different from his usual style. in this series he painted a plain black glaze and then drew seemingly random scenes on them. I’ve personally seen a horse one, but there are more of which this is one. Can be used as a catch all or hung on the wall or displayed on a stand in a shelf display as a piece of art (stand not included).
