The stunning glazing on this dish is one of the talents that Eric Leaper was well renowned for. The depths and different colours in this glaze make it almost 3 dimensional. Stunning reds, oranges, greens and blacks truly make it a very noticeable piece and one I can’t quite capture well enough in the photos. Made in the 1960s at the Newlyn Pottery in Cornwall this is one to add to your pottery collection. As you will see in the last photo there are two other pieces of this type available in differing sizes. This piece is signed ‘Leaper Newlyn’ on the bottom side and is about the size of a bread plate at 14.5cm in diameter and stands at 1.5 cm. Would also make a great trinket dish.
