Victorian Valentines Card, 19th C Early Valentines cards were originally made from paper sheets, printed with colour illustrations and an embossed edge. They were then folded and sealed with wax before posting. These cards were often sent to wider circles, including friends. This lovely example from the 1800s features two women, one comforting the other with the words ' Pine not thus my sister dear, his vows of truth are written here.
