French Vintage Transferware Plates
+ £2.50 delivery (1-3 days)
Vintage French Transferware Plates 23cms diameter. Transferware first came into production in the 1700s, when intricate hand painted designs were engraved into copper plates, transferred onto monochrome paper, which was then transferred onto plates. This made expensive painted plates affordable for many kitchen tables of the 18th century onwards. These plates are thought to be late 19th Century/ early 20th Century. There are no cracks or chips to the front of the plates, but there are age-related marks to the backs, which add to their charm. Please refer to the photos. The plates are being displayed hanging and the adhesive hanger can be included or removed. They make a beautiful, on-trend wall display in any home. Colour: Blue/green/grey....more
